Background:

SRCS is an independent, non-political humanitarian organisation. It was established in April 1963 and became a legal entity following Presidential Decree No. 187 in 1965. SRCS has operated continuously throughout the country’s period of civil war and political divide and is credited for its unity as one National Society. It operates through a network of nineteen branches with activities spread all across the country.

Overall, Job Purpose

The Obstetric Fistula Physiotherapist is responsible for providing specialized physiotherapy services to women affected by obstetric fistula. The role focuses on restoring functional mobility of fistula women, preventing disability, and enhancing overall quality of life. The physiotherapist works closely with surgeons, nurses, and counselors to deliver holistic, patient-centered care.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 

Clinical & Rehabilitation Responsibilities

·        Have main duty to undertake a comprehensive full assessment based on patient’s service needs

·        Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and surgical plans

Promote patient confidence, dignity, and empowerment through rehabilitation.

·        Provide group education sessions on mobility, exercise benefits, and lifestyle adjustments.

·        Care, proper handling of the material used for physiotherapy treatment

·        Maintain accurate physiotherapy records, assessment notes, and treatment progress

·        Track patient outcomes and contribute to program indicators and quality improvement.

·        Work with surgeons and nurses to align physiotherapy with medical and surgical plans.

·        Participate in ward rounds, case discussions, and treatment planning.

·        Coordinate with psychosocial teams to ensure holistic care.

·        Collect data and monthly report activity

·        Prepare reports for the Fistula Project Manager monthly.

·        Report to the Project Manager any problem about equipment machines, if there is need to repair or replace.

Experiences and Qualifications

 

Educational Qualifications & Professional Training:

·        Bacholar’s degree in physiotherapy or Midwife.

·        Experience: _Al least one-year experience with similar position.
