1 Title of Consultancy Endline evaluation for Hafun water solar desalination unit
2 SCI Contracting Office Save the Children Somalia Country Office
3 Period of Consultancy The assignment will be conducted within 40 days inclusive of travel
4 Consultant type required INDIVIDUAL/FIRM
5 Responsibility for Logistics arrangements and Costs SCI will CATER FOR ALL LOGISTICAL ARRANGEMENTS BY HIM/HERSELF
6 Taxation Provisions The consultant is responsible for all taxes arising from the consultancy in accordance with the local Tax regulations in effect at the SCI contracting office listed above.
7 Travel requirements The consultant should be able to report to the duty station (Puntland) to assess Hafun water solar desalination unit in Hafun town.
8 Security requirements The consultant will follow standard Save the Children Security procedures, including completing SCI online security training.
9 Qualification and Experience 1.      The lead consultant should have Master of Research, geology, and hydrogeology.

2.      Experience with similar assignments including baseline and endline evaluations.

  1. Ability to quickly negotiate effectively by exploring a range of possibilities.
  2. Ability to quickly build rapport with individuals and groups;
  3. Fluency in English and Somali is required.
  4. Strong written and verbal skills in communicating technical and/ or complex findings to non-specialist audiences (especially report writing and presentation skills).
  5. Applying firms/individuals are expected to have presence (teams) in Somalia

Relevant Consultant Experience

Prove of experience of the consultancy firm or individual. Please submit copies of similar/equivalent contracts and note that each copy of contract shall carry 5 marks till allocated marks of 15 are achieved.

Adequacy of Work Plan

Submission of detailed work & realistic work plan with clear description of tasks and the Scope of Work.

Interview of the individual or firm

–        Demonstration of better understanding of TOR and scope of work during the interview.

–        Demonstration of technical capability and expertise in project evaluations.

–        Presentation of well-structured methodology and techniques to be applied for the execution the required consultancy services.
