Job Summary

The Project Manager will oversee all aspects of a large-scale real estate housing project that includes not only residential development but also essential infrastructure works. This includes roadworks, drainage systems, stormwater management, and wastewater management systems within a village setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, technical knowledge, and project management skills, and have experience in real estate and civil infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Planning and Management:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive project plan, ensuring alignment with project goals, budget, and timeline.

• Coordinate with stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, deliverables, and milestones.

• Prepare detailed project schedules and resource plans, including labor, materials, and equipment.

2. Budget and Cost Control:

• Establish and manage the project budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation.

• Monitor project expenses, implement cost-saving measures, and prepare financial forecasts and variance reports.

• Approve project expenditures and manage contract negotiations with vendors and suppliers.

3. Infrastructure Coordination:

• Oversee the development of infrastructure works, including asphalt roads, drainage, stormwater, and wastewater systems.

• Ensure compliance with municipal standards, environmental regulations, and health and safety standards.

• Collaborate with civil engineers, contractors, and environmental specialists to ensure functional, sustainable infrastructure solutions.

4. Team Management and Communication:

• Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team of engineers, architects, contractors, and other project personnel.

• Facilitate regular project meetings to review progress, discuss challenges, and re-align project goals.

• Ensure clear and consistent communication with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities.

5. Quality Assurance and Compliance:

• Implement quality control and quality assurance standards to ensure the highest level of project delivery.

• Conduct site inspections, evaluate work against design specifications, and promptly address any deviations.

• Ensure all aspects of the project comply with local building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.

6. Risk Management:

• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks related to budget, timeline, safety, and technical requirements.

• Develop contingency plans to address potential delays or unforeseen issues.

7. Project Reporting:

• Prepare and deliver regular progress reports, including project status updates, risk assessments, and financial summaries.

• Maintain project documentation, including contracts, permits, change orders, and final project closeout reports.

 

 

Skills and qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

• Project Management Professional (PMP).

• 10+ years of experience in project management, preferably within the real estate and infrastructure sectors.

• Proven track record of managing housing and infrastructure projects, including roadworks, drainage, and water management systems.

• Proficient in engineering software, including AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, Google Maps, and Civil 3D.

• Strong understanding of surveying techniques and survey machinery; ability to analyze survey data effectively for project requirements.

• Good command of English (both written and verbal); proficiency in an additional language is advantageous.

• Solid knowledge of construction practices, quality management, and regulatory requirements.

• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).

• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and navigate complex project challenges.
